Over the last decade, our nation has made huge gains for children because of the success of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Medicaid, which serve as the cornerstones of coverage for one-third of our nation’s children. Newly-enacted health reform legislation provides an important opportunity to move our nation closer to the day when every child in America has access to the high-quality health care services they need to grow up to be healthy, strong, and productive adults.
