Research For Results

Good policy needs good information. With all the ways that government impacts the lives of our kids, we need to ensure that lawmakers have access to the best available information and analysis. Without it, hidden problems go unsolved, resources are wasted, and government policies can sometimes do more harm than good. First Focus is committed to bringing timely and illuminating research into the center of the discussion and ensuring that, when it comes to policies that affect our kids, facts come first.

First Focus Research and Reports
Recognizing that a solid understanding of the problems facing our children is the first step towards solving them, First Focus regularly produces research and analytic reports that highlight issues, explain impacts and illustrate solutions. First Focus will continue to be at the forefront when it comes to injecting reason and research into the policy debates.  more

First Focus Fellows are currently placed at the Brookings Institution, the Urban Institute, the New America Foundation, the Ethics and Public Policy Center, and the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.  more

First Focus Efforts to Support Children’s Research
Federal policymakers also recognize the need for better information when it comes to making decisions for our children. First Focus enthusiastically supports additional investments in knowledge and further efforts at information gathering. Even modest investments will pay huge dividends in helping us identify and solve the real problems facing kids in our nation.  more
