First Focus Endorses the Full-Service Community Schools Act

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) and Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) have introduced comprehensive legislation to efficiently coordinate services for children at public elementary and secondary schools.  The Full-Service Community Schools Act (H.R. 2323, S. 1391) would increase the number of “full-service community schools” in the United States.  These schools integrate community based, social service programs for students and families into a traditional school setting.
