Senate Finance Committee SCHIP Mark-Up Resources
On July 13, 2007 Sens. Max Baucus (D-MT), Charles Grassley (R-IA), Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), and Orrin Hatch (R-UT) announced an agreement to renew the State Children's Health Insurance Program. The bill would add an additional $35 billion in new spending over five years to provide coverage to more than 3 million uninsured children. The agreement falls $15 billion short of the $50 billion provided in the congressional budget resolution, and would cover approximately one-third of all uninsured American children.
