Communications Intern Associate
First Focus is working to make America a better place to be a child and raise a family, and is seeking an Intern Associate to support us in effectively communicating the value, impact, and importance of making kids and families a priority in federal policy and budget decisions. The position provides experience in traditional media outreach, social media, website administration, advertising campaign development, and internal communications. The Intern Associate has the unique and valuable opportunity to learn alongside policy experts in a variety of areas that have a profound impact on children and their families including child health, immigration, child welfare, early childhood, education, and family economics.
This position is well suited for undergraduate students studying communications, political science or public affairs, interested in a holistic view of federal policy, and with a career interest in non-profit communications, government administration, advocacy, or legislative affairs.
First Focus Intern Associates receive a stipend intended to help cover travel, housing, and commuting costs. The stipend will be determined by the Intern Associate’s part- or full-time availability.
Qualifications: Applicants must be current undergraduate students. Applicants should demonstrate outstanding written communication skills, work well in a fast-paced environment, and be willing to learn. Previous internship experience is not required. Candidates must be available at least 20 hours per week on a consistent schedule, and able to start in September or October and work through fall.
