On July 25th, First Focus submitted recommendations to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regarding the June 15th deferred action policy for certain undocumented children and youth. These recommendations were drawn from feedback gathered from eligible youth and their families around the country, with a focus on eligible individuals under 18 years of age.
On August 1st, the DHS is scheduled to announce the procedures for applying for deferred action. On August 15th, DHS is scheduled to begin accepting applications. For updated information, please refer to the DHS frequently asked questions page on their website.
