Children of immigrants are 1.5 times more likely to live in families with incomes below the official poverty threshold than are children in native-born families, despite high levels of secure parental employment. Likewise, children of immigrants are at greater risk of living in food-insecure households than those of native-born families and are also more likely to live in households where children are also food insecure (14 percent versus 11 percent).
