Christopher Spina

Vice President and Counsel, Communications and Policy

Christopher Spina is the Vice President of Communications and Counsel for First Focus. In this capacity, he is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s legal affairs, media outreach, and overall communications efforts.

Prior to joining First Focus, Mr. Spina served as Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Lincoln Chafee, where he was directly involved with the politics and policy debates that drive the Congress. As Press Secretary, he directed national media relations and managed all aspects of a productive Washington, D.C. communications office. In addition, Mr. Spina worked as Communications Director for Senator Chafee’s nationally covered primary and general election campaigns in Rhode Island. Serving in this position, Mr. Spina was integral in the successful development and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy that resulted in widespread media attention throughout the campaign.

Before joining Senator Chafee’s staff, Ms. Spina served as a legislative aide to the Rhode Island House of Representatives. He was also a member of the campaign team that successfully elected Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick Lynch. Mr. Spina is a graduate of the Catholic University Columbus School of Law and a member of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts Bar Associations.
