Less than a third of students who enroll in community college will complete their degree because of economic barriers. In this paper, Elizabeth Mason and Julie Kashen of SingleStop USA, stress the importance of creating a comprehensive benefit/services counseling system for community college students allowing them to increase their own bottom lines, and therefore their academic potential. With more money in their pockets, these students can complete their education, offering each of them and their families a brighter future.
