A home is the foundation of family life, and poor housing conditions can have a strong, negative impact on the lives of children. These impacts are particularly strong in the colonias region, which has a history of housingBI2012-Colonias and infrastructure struggles. Loza and Cox propose the creation of a Colonias Regional Commission, which would address these issues by leveraging resources and help to facilitate improved housing conditions for families and children within the region.
