Katie Peters is the Vice President of Communications for First Focus. In this capacity she is responsible for all aspects of the organization's media outreach, including regular interaction with national media, trade press, and local media throughout the 50 states. Katie also oversees marketing and branding initiatives in addition to website and publication development.
Prior to joining First Focus, Katie served as the Youth Engagement Coordinator for the America’s Promise Alliance where she led the organization’s commitment to engage young people as leaders. In this role, Katie developed youth leadership curricula and guidebooks, trained and supervised the work of national student leaders, and planned and facilitated numerous leadership retreats for young people. In addition, she led the Alliance’s outreach and partnership efforts with national youth service organizations from across the nation.
Katie holds a Bachelor of Science in education and German from the University of Wisconsin.
